Carpe Diem - Tanka Love Suite
what is this thing called love
this funny thing called love
causing you to lose your mind
churning you round in a tumble dryer
shedding lots of tears
it could fly you
to the moon then rip you
into a zillion pieces
a dangerous obsession with
people you don't really like
real love is kindness
doing the grocery shopping
eating nougat ice cream as a treat
reading the newspaper together
complaining about the illiteracy of journalists
sharing values
feeling safe and warm
caring and concern
two against the world
through thick and thin
when it's time to go
the other will follow shortly afterwards
because no one else
will listen to all the complaints
or bring you tea in the morning

So lovely to have someone to bring you tea in the morning. The one thing my dog companions could not do. LOL. The one man who did bring me a cup of tea - once - brought me to tears. But he was only playing a part.
