For My Lover Returning To His Wife...Anne Sexton

An Erasure Poem based  on Mindlovemisery's Menagerie Prompt

" For My Lover Returning To His Wife " ...Anne Sexton

She is all there
She was melted carefully for you
Let's face it . I have been momentary
A bright red sloop in the harbor
She sees to oars and oarlocks for the dinghy
has placed wild flowers at the window at breakfast
She is solid
As for me I am a watercolor
I wash off

Wordle

she gave him  many chances
but he did not call nor write
she no longer exists for him
the damage done
remains  beyond repair

being of fiery disposition
both lash out in a billow of flames
unable to deal with conflict adding to
unresolved misery locked in a frame
of frustration

neither have the craft nor inclination
to yield surrender or sing psalms
of forgiveness

with considerable effort feverish determination
and a little luck
they will soon become just  a dim memory
to each other
and wordles will be more difficult to write
with only gardening and gossip as  inspiration

her kimono

the inevitable progressed
with velocity
thrashing about
in the throes of passion
tipping over a potted palm
and a few bamboo screens

her audible moan disturbing
the hag with prying eyes
who lived
behind the paper thin walls
across the way

mindlovemisery's menagerie

the anguish and panic in his hoarse grisly voice
over a serrated callus
pleading for a bottle of whiskey to alleviate the pain
was just another example of the urban indulgence
of a scripturient icon
making a welter over a relatively simple injury
with all the accompanying theatrics

alas there was something missing
he was loved revered by his kin

Honey Dew Hunt

An Erasure Poem
Lines from
Always For The First Time
Andre Breton ( 1896 - 1966 )

Hardly do I know you
I perhaps shall never meet you
You pretend not to know
I am watching you
It's a honey dew hunt
Two lovely legs caught in stockings
My finding the secret
Of loving you
Always for the first time
