THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from " ARS POETICA" by Valzhyna Mort

books, street, mouth, names, hardened, runs, held, shiny, swear, apples, build, chocolates

 WORDLE

she is without street smarts

she swears by shiny red apples

thinks they build a good constitution

chocolates are great too

but result in hardened arteries

and a mouth full of rotten teeth

so no thanks

she has always held books dear to her heart

but can never remember their names

it runs in the family

WORDLE

the hawk flappings its wings

flying over head became a blur

the crow sitting on the stump

began to caw

she stood there in the mist

wrapped in a beautiful shawl

looking back at him

her eyes pools of ocean blue

a streak of madness overcame him

his heart started beating like a drum

he began to shiver all over

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "River Roads" by Carl Sandburg: crow, hawk, drum, stump, head, pools, shiver, blur, wings, streak, mist, shawl

The Owl and the Pussy Cat

The Owl and the Pussy-Cat

I
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
   In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
         You are,
         You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!"

II
Pussy said to the Owl, "You elegant fowl!
   How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-Tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
             His nose,
             His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

III
"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
   Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
             The moon,
             The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

 lovely

grandma's flowers

in a dusty old vase

 dark furniture

 from a byegone era

feels like home

Marmalade Boy 1

Marmalade Boy

life

so precarious

so dangerous

these days

can’t find a way

out of the maze

glad to be labelled over the hill

not a time to be young

and looking for thrills

solutions

solutions

i’ll ask my cat

he’s very smart

and matter of fact

marmalade boy

so terribly wise

warm and cuddly

i got me a prize

Sunday Afternoon

on her sunday afternoon walk

no one could be lonely as a cloud

with that bright blue sky

she came across

not a host of golden daffodils

but some lovely pink magnolias

and it's not even spring

This Weeks Words come from " Cape Cod" by George Santayana

WORDLE

the sorrow becomes huge

burning deeply within the charred remains

of his thin body

lying in a pine box

the wind blew up

from the shore line

the palms bending

in the salty breeze

his soul flies to heaven
