Sunday Whirligig 17

coatless flag envelope kitchen touch thinking
walk games stars roadside slices say

walking by the roadside
lost in a flag of stars
she used to think of ways to keep in touch
to settle for a small slice of his life

there was a time
she would have turned up coatless in winter
to the opening of an envelope
just to spend a few moments with him

disillusioned by his cruel games
she would prefer to do almost anything else now
say, even cleaning the kitchen pots and pans

Sunday's Whirligig

hoist purple white headlights park gloves
canvas running fist open suburbs walking

clearly not from the suburbs
canvas under her arm
a fistful of purple and white brunfelsia
snapped off a bush from a walk in the park
used as a corsage to match her elbow length gloves
she sees headlights in the distance
hoists up her skirt
starts running towards it

car stops - she opens the back door
 - gets in
imperiously giving directions
as if it were a cab

the driver taken aback
decides then and there
he is going to marry this girl
no matter what

Swept Away

Warhol meets Dali At The Teddy Bears Picnic

I like Jack Kerouac's wry humour.

I went in the woods
to meditate
It was too cold

if you go down
to the woods today-don't pick
or eat the mushrooms

Summer Breeze

MLMM
Heeding Haiku With Ha

see the curtains
hanging in the window
in the evening on a friday night
little light is shining in the window
lets me know everything is alright

summer breeze makes me feel fine
blowing through the jasmine in my mind

"Sound the Trumpet" (H. Purcell) - Michael Chance, James Bowman, Ensembl...

midweek motif PU

The Power Of Two

two counter tenors
belting out a musical storm
exuberance oozing
from every talented pore

more powerful rhythmical
than any sounding trumpet
or spritely hautbois
a falsetto spectacular
better than the bee gees

Pluto

3 WW--- dark boring lonely
imaginary garden with real toads

at last - earth visitors
poor pluto has been dark and lonely
for too long
it has been a boring wait
his big white heart is beating
turning pink with delight
sending us a love message

palm trees on my mind

the fountain of youth

honeysuckle thrives
by the ancient road
over the hill special

Wordle 69 MLMM

binary wad flagstone socket hour
message sicken tiptoe emanation sluggish

humming silly tunes
in binary form
chewing a wad of gum
tiptoeing sluggishly over the flagstones
a bit worse for wear

she reread the sickening text message
received an hour ago
imagined the leer
emanating from his cruel  evil face
mentally told him to

Sunday Whirligig 15

deep bathe loll dialling wrathful fingers
drifting shattering shady parking prance posts

lolling about
in the deep waves
drifting with the tide
prancing bathing in the seaweed
fingers wrinkled
looking back at the striped posts
in the parking lot
the shady parking policeman dialling his cellphone
wrathfully writing a ticket shattering the moment

Terrorism

crows peck at the heart like grain
there was no crawling away
or escaping from the attack
the upturned van
collapsed in the muddy clay
all the doors open
blood spattered quilts  bags
splintered cracked bones
strewn everywhere

Sunday Whirligig 14

beginning misty place everything world silent
people talk head nowhere beyond again

in the beginning
the world was a misty place
everything silent and peaceful

then people came along
talking heads nowheresville
gate crashers of the planet

it is beyond me and i ask myself
time and time again why God
made so few nice ones
