Wordle 67; 68;

MindLoveMisery's Menagerie

 diameter purloin junk bazaar gorge
haul dwindle rendezvous incinerate foreboding

she had a foreboding of a rendezvous
at the bazaar with that guy
he   seemed the sort who would purloin
a haul of merchandise off the back of a truck
and have a diameter symbol as a tattoo

she would probably end up eating
incinerated hot dogs gorging junk food
drinking cheap booze

she might consider it though
her prospects were dwindling
she was not getting any younger

Wordle 68

flotsam dump truck unshaven rictus
pithy wince problem accumulate scuttle

she winced
at the unshaven dump truck driver
with a rictus smile as wide as the thames
she anticipated a problem engaging in
a pithy conversation
time to scuttle
she had accumulated enough flotsam
in her life already

Sunday Whirligig 13

elsewhere idea hands run walk mailbox
letter shop records way sitting book

would love to see her live
sitting at the piano
her magical hands
running over the keyboard
transporting us elsewhere
with her brilliance
difficult piece  - not a walk in the park

fans camp out overnight
at the old record shop to get tickets
no way of getting one
seats booked months in advance

i will write her a letter
no - wont put it in the mailbox
silly idea at my age

 3 WW... lump nervous puzzle

no one could have guessed back then
how short her time would be

it's a puzzle that terrible disease
which attacks the nerves and renders one
a useless lump

her genius snuffed out at the age of 28

Monsoon Misery

monsoon misery memories of mildew
every thing damp never dries out
mould creeping across walls and shoes
continues daily for months

the frogs are deafening
torrential rain like a thousand tool boxes
being emptied on to the iron roof
the geckos invite all their mates indoors
clicking away like a castanet band

the bloated  mosquitoes are transformed
into the size of small birds from gorging themselves
the black and white ones carrying dengue fever

the brain becomes water logged
the rainy season seems to never end
and my tropical heart still misses it sometimes

Sunday Whirligig 12

tremulous architecture remembering culture forgotten separate
love holds wander traditions woman city

he holds her
tremulous and tight
a woman in love

wander lust
part of his cultural heritage
separates them
traditions pulling at heart strings
it did not work out

wistfully looking out
at the modern architecture
from her city apartment
sometimes she remembers him
he is not forgotten

Red For Remembering

 mindlovemisery's menagerie

she didn't have red shoes
or a spotless white skirt
she didn't ride a bike
so
why am i reminded of that little girl
in the red coat
as she wandered around the ghetto
on her own
destined to be crammed into a cattle truck
on her way to the gas chamber

O So Nice

dverse

you're
the cream in my coffee
the icing on the cake
the sugar in my grapes
the cholesterol in my cheese
i suppose one could say

you're
terribly bad for me
but
o so nice

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday Whirligig 11

secret think poem bronze alarming storm
speak bath gossip sour thirsty razors

i don't  think much of poems written by
alarmingly 'thirsty  for gossip' sourpusses
secret plotters razor tongued speakers of spite

i'd rather soak in a hot bubble bath
listening to natalie cole
on a stormy sunday afternoon
with a bronze aussie

Liberation Russian Style

3WW...erect blemish lopsided

erecting a flag over the reichstag
the city is liberated
the war is over

the women know better
they quickly paint on lipstick lopsided
highlight and create blemishes
to look like pox chancres
making themselves look as ugly
and diseased as possible

perhaps
they should smear blood
on their doorways
it worked in the bible story
anything is worth a try

Winter Thoughts

Mindlovemisery's Menagerie

the days are sunny -  cobalt blue
crisp crackling remnants of autumn
still piled on unswept paths

she sits in the sunshine
on this beautiful day
and gives thanks

grateful she will never
be entombed in the
cesspit of hate hurled
by sad creatures
who attack in a pack
all doomed
to live with themselves

a fate so vile
thoughts  of revenge
are unnecessary
ho hum !

Sunday Whirligig 10

the strength and the length
of the rubber gloves

important things that spring to mind
when cleaning up the spilt fine wine

stains on the carpet all bright red
that awful mess just fills her  with dread

once again it's all his fault
pissed as a newt doing somersaults

he wonders why he has shakes and aches
back pain and troubles - gimme a break

sprinkle some salt -  just a touch
his frightful behaviour is just too much

Crooner

Wordle 63
Mindlovemisery's Menagerie

your fans reel at your viscous caramel notes
testimony to a cromulent crooner
the surge of sighs from the gals effervescent
in the grotesque hexagonal auditorium

i know this is a tad terse
i say this without rancour
with my hand on the crucifix

you're a lovely lad michael
but you are not a patch on
ole blue eyes  - no one is
