Tantum Ergo Sacramentum
the sunset years
peace and consolation found
in childhood memories
benediction in the chapel
candles and gregorian chant
Carpe Diem Haiku Kai
Sunday's Whirligig 122
girls sweet joys hair deceit surprise laugh only someone think alike best
one of the great joys in life
is the music of giggles
of sweet deceit free giggling girls
hair in regulation plaits looking alike all peas in a pod
if only someone had thought to make a recording back then
the best giggles were those agonising suppressed convulsive ones
side splitting stuff during benediction
the poor old nun in the prie - dieu at the back of the chapel used to fall asleep
and snore providing an unintentional ostinato bass to the gregorian chant
reverberating off the walls

always surprised that i still laugh when i think of it today
so long ago - a different world - a gentler world

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai 3
While, waiting for you,
My heart is filled with longing,
The autumn wind blows—
As if it were you—
Swaying the bamboo blinds of my door.
Princess Nukata
summer is over
sad autumn mists herald
the frost of bleak grey winter
your warm smile your warm hands
make the spring of our life
My heart is filled with longing,
The autumn wind blows—
As if it were you—
Swaying the bamboo blinds of my door.

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "The Pleasures of Hating" by Laure-Anne Bosselaar: hate, bliss, rapture, wig, lips, sandals, loathe, dents, draw, relapse, broccoli, delight
bliss rapture delight
crooning corny love songs
on the boat
no one could guess
their eventual break down into
hate loathing and ego dents
she stayed because
she had nowhere to go
it was not a relapse
into the pink twin set and pearls
mentality of the 50s
he was quick on the draw
a marksman of destruction
targeting
the only one who would listen
to his woeful accordion playing
and tolerate his bad wig
to him she was just
a pair of sexy lips in sandals
who knew everything
about the health benefits of broccoli
bliss rapture delight
crooning corny love songs
on the boat
no one could guess
their eventual break down into
hate loathing and ego dents
she stayed because
she had nowhere to go
it was not a relapse
into the pink twin set and pearls
mentality of the 50s
he was quick on the draw
a marksman of destruction
targeting
the only one who would listen
to his woeful accordion playing
and tolerate his bad wig
to him she was just
a pair of sexy lips in sandals
who knew everything
about the health benefits of broccoli

Twilight
Sing A Song Of Sixpence
he liked
four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie
he liked
stirring the old monk about his dirty paintings
of the maid in the garden hanging out the clothes
he liked
having a bath with his soft skinned wife by the fire
a dainty dish to set before a king
and on wintry Sunday afternoons
he would look at the leafless trees
through the slats of the bamboo blinds
he was an odd chap but so is everyone these days
blackbird stirring monk skin dirty bamboo
paintings hanging bath wife leafless fire

J S Bach Jesus bleibet meine Freude BWV 147 Ton Koopman 480p
jesus bleibet meine freude
on a late wintery afternoon
pipes out over the ancient plains
the mountain range smiles a deep blue
the spindly tall yellow grass stands still
a hush breathes across the dusk
fading into the palest pink
to think all this perfection
this testament to magnificence
just came from a big bang
which all randomly fell into place
all the intricate design and marvels
just accidents
destined to nothing
tears
the sweetness of a smile
giggles
the tenderness of a touch
a selfless act of kindness and compassion
the taste of a ripe peach
all
random consequences from an explosion
truth is intangible
can never be viewed under a microscope
or sit nicely in a test tube
blindness is not just a lack of vision
it wears a white lab coat and is
mistakenly convinced of its superior brain

WORDS come from "Are Poets the Same as Everyone Else?" by Esther Cohen:
festival together wore only poems fruit walked favorite wine listened before shades
For Captain Wilhelm Hosenfeld
they talked together
sat amongst the ruins
then spizlman played his favourite chopin _
captain hosenfeld listened
his mind walked through the past
remembering fruit trees and wine festivals before the war
only shades of happiness and love poems
a time when no one wore yellow stars
thanks to hosenfeld spizlman survived
hosenfeld died in a soviet labour camp in 1952
