Sunday Afternoon

on her sunday afternoon walk

no one could be lonely as a cloud

with that bright blue sky

she came across

not a host of golden daffodils

but some lovely pink magnolias

and it's not even spring

  1. Lovely. And I adore magnolias. I once had a magnolia tree in the long ago, and took photos of my children near it.

  5. I didn't know about pink Magnolias, we had a Magnolia tree and it's white, as was the one where we lived before in Montgomery (TX). You must be fertilizing yours; it is really having a lot of blossoms.
BTW, at first when google got mean I was signing in "anonymous" also, but when I discovered the drop down alows you to leave Name and URL, I jumped on it. But if a site doesn't allow 'anonymous' then we still can't sign in with any way. I'm thinking about getting a non-Blogger just for signing in at those places.

  6. That's a lovely picture and poem. No one could be lonely as a cloud with blue skies and pink magnolias.

  7. I just love it when Nature blooms us a surprise. I know that the surprises in question are probably a result of climate change. Still, if we must endure the horrors, we best delight in the unintended gifts.

  9. I wonder what Wordsworth would think of magnolias? Would they fill his heart with pleasure? Would he dance with them?
