" For My Lover Returning To His Wife " ...Anne Sexton
She is all there
She was melted carefully for you
Let's face it . I have been momentary
A bright red sloop in the harbor
She sees to oars and oarlocks for the dinghy
has placed wild flowers at the window at breakfast
She is solid
As for me I am a watercolor
I wash off
You've done that beautifully. Your erasure has only enhanced and taken nothing away.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThis embodies the soul of the poem brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThis is the same poem that stood out to me...you picked out the meat of it...that watercolor bit...the washing off part...wow, that is powerful, isn't it??
