Butterfly Chinquain

Day 9

2 4 6 8 2
8 6 4 2

                          at night
                     i look outside
               the street wet and empty
like a still from a french movie
                          silence

the street lamp lights the dripping leaves
           cold glass against my cheek
                   i softly sigh
                          again

  1. Beautiful. Are the numbers the syllable-count in each line? They don't seem to match up with this poem, but the sentiment is still lovely and poetic.
