Sunday's Whirligig 194

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "A Ritual to Read to Each Other" by William E. Stafford: should shrug cruelty darkness discourage miss know horrible tail fool  lost fragile

you should miss her
but she knows you don't
you walk away with a shrug
as if she never existed
you did nothing to discourage her
horrible men with little horns and tails
are drawn to her like moths to a flame
lost and fragile she is a fool to expect anything else
cruelty and darkness are part of her life

  1. Sadly, this is the way of many relationships. Despite the unhappy ending of this poem, Happy New Year!
