New Years Eve - Troiku

 Create a ‘fusion ku’ and then a Troiku on the theme of New Year’s Eve based on two haiku by Jane Reichhold 

 a new year
rising from wild seas
a few stars

filling
the glass with candlelight
champagne

popping champagne corks
the sky alight with fireworks
new years eve again

Troiku 

popping champagne corks
cheers and roars from the crowd
i slide the doors shut

the sky alight with fireworks
millions of dollars in flames
for fun fifteen minutes

new years eve again
party downstairs deafening
can't find my ear plugs

    So realistic for some! Luckily, I live in a quiet village and, at the moment, am a bit deaf. I worry about my cats when fireworks start to go off.

    My son and his fiance were in the crowd in NYC this year! They texted and did a Instagram live moment or whatever - I'm still amazed how we can keep in touch these days (although at midnight I was in bed almost asleep and then... bingo I am almost live at times square :)
