it is your birthday soon
how about about a pen
i s'pose you want balloons
or nice sharp quills from the hen
everyone knows your name
some of them have not read you
that is such a great shame
they would learn a lot it's true

read people like your hand
from lands some near and far
your brilliance always stands
your pen was truly magic

ReplyDeleteAuthor Connie Willis once said that she was asked why she didn't write more on women's issues, as though, being a woman, she could write only on that. She said that perhaps Shakespeare should write only on dead 16th century men's issues. She said Shakespeare had bigger fish to fry, and intimated that he was a superb psychologist, just as you have. Brava!
