the clouds billowedlike a diaphanous skirt
a shade of ink black weather
laced with iridescent lightning strikes
and dissonant claps of thunder
she quickly removed
her metal hair clips
placed them in her velour purse
mottled and stained by rain
thankful for her rubber boots
Get inside! You'll catch a cold! Your vivid description soaked me by proxy!
ReplyDeleteA wise precaution! I certainly wouldn't want to be out there even with rubber wellies!

ReplyDeleteWitty use of words, entertaining metaphors ~ thanks for words, Cressida!
