Sunday Whirligig 4

the clouds billowed
like a diaphanous skirt
a shade of ink black weather
laced with iridescent lightning strikes
and dissonant claps of thunder

she quickly removed
her metal hair clips
placed them in her velour purse
mottled and stained by rain
thankful for her rubber boots

  2. A wise precaution! I certainly wouldn't want to be out there even with rubber wellies!

  3. Walking in the rain is romantic; walking in lightning is foolhardy with or without hair clips! However it is always good to look out from inside. Well written.
