DAY 23
oboes d'amore
we used to practise this
every easter in the kitchen
preparing for the performance
it fills me with sadness
to think of it
you have been gone a long time
i was young
you were not
DAY 24
ive done it again
done it again
done it again
why do i do this?
my downfall
seduced by looks charm
brilliance and talent
every time
every single time
DAY 25 ANZAC DAY
REG CHARD
my superhero
98 years old
lives alone
keeps his house
as neat as a pin
last survivor of the the kokoda trail
works as a volunteer
at the kokoda trail memorial
a humble beautiful man
who still misses his childhood sweetheart
whom he first saw walking past his place
on her way to school
he said to his mother
" i'm going to marry that girl"
"get inside reg!"
she said
thank you reg
for everything
enjoy your 65 year old roses
still growing in your garden
a lot of aussies love you reg
DAY 26
she smelled the way the Taj Mahal looks by moonlight.....Raymond Chandler
wafts of curry chilli and cabbage smells
assault the senses
with the rattling of garbage lids
when the kitchen has closed
somehow i don't think this is what Chandler
had in mind
DAY 27
CINQUAIN
it's true
i don't like waste
but i don't have the time
to make yummy banana cakes
pity
DAY 28
DAY 29
David La Chapelle
ever had days like this
overwhelmed by life
mayhem and strife
crawl in under the duvet
bury your woes
in fresh sheets and pillow slips
sleep sound in repose
Day 30
it's come to an end
i'm never doing this again
i say this every year
EARTHWEAL OPEN LINK WEEKEND # 116

I especially enjoyed your superhero piece and your superhero dedication to fulfilling a writer’s challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing NaPoWriMo! LOL, the one about the banana bread was very relatable.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Reg Chard video. And your last entry made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed them all, and had a giggle about your Taj Mahal.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first year I have not said 'Never again!' by the end of the month. It must be because this time I made up my own project instead of following other people's prompts.
Oh a rainfall of poems Beautiful My favourite 'Remix of Day 18 in Shakespeare mode' Is an oboe simular to a klarinet or am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful series. I'll be back for more.
ReplyDeleteI sit at my desk, listening to the St. Matthew Passion aria ... dreaming, drifting to another realm, another time. How lovely it is. How wonderful all your poetry bits.
ReplyDeleteNice set.
ReplyDeleteLuv the surreal hamburger image
Much💛love
The first one is very endearing to me. Creating a meal, singing, sharing time with family members. Very special times and you captured it well/
ReplyDeleteGreat work on completing NaPoWriMo!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed every entry in this post, but I must give a salute to Reg Chard. It is brave men like him that has kept our world free from tyranny. Also, I have told myself I am not doing NaPoWriMo this year, and I didn't. :D
This morning I was listening to an oboist on Youtube, lol. I like the comfortableness of your poems.
ReplyDeleteWonderful poems. A productive April!
