into the waves
under a silent glittering moon
no clouds no danger
a calm sea sanctuary on a midsummer's night
better than a dinner on the pier
WHIRLIGIG # 357
Chelsea Piers" by Joseph O. Legaspi: lover, piers, dinner, midsummer, moon, clouds, waves, glitter, sanctuary, danger, silent, plunges
there was no rhyme or reason
there were no tell tale signs
of why there was going to be
an unseasonal storm of this magnitude
an echo of last winters chaos
howling winds and decimated forests
it was a calm warm night
the moon full and dazzling bright
her grandmother saw that small bone
lying in an old lambs tongue tin in the dirt
she stopped dead in her tracks
we knew something was up
she knew
we all knew she knew
this was not the first time

I loved the first poem before I even read it, the picture set the mood. I still get the little shakes thinking about the things lovers do.
ReplyDeleteThe Second one? Can't get anything over with Grandmothers. But they are sooo forgiving.
