Day 20
A rebellious poem
The speaker or subject of the poem could defy a rule or stricture that’s been placed on them.
oh so you're a poet
published?
she enquired with the curled sneer of one who has taken offense
at someone breaking wind in the elevator
the "not doing well" sign flashing warning lights as well
social pariah poet smiles politely and laughs inwardly
sadly still stuck fast in a middle class upbringing
which prevents her from telling this arriviste bitch to "Sod Off "

Day 21

opiate fuelled inspiration
a reverie in clouds of euphoria
a fantasy adventure
figments of imagination float
in epic tales allegories psalms
all concocted from the comfort
of a bed looking out on to a rain forest
Day 22

“You've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.” ― Annie Dillard
when the hunter is sitting hot on one's tail
the hunted have no choice
a thelma and louise is the only option
if one is very lucky
miracles do happen
one might have a guardian angel
who stays alert
doesn't nod off or take a vacation
steps up to the mark and lends you a spare set of wings
on the way down
it's not just the cat who has nine lives
I love all of these, especially your rebellious one. My face would say bitch whether or not my mouth did. lol I have certainly given my guardian angel a workout and a chase trying to put more feathers in my wings. Thanks for taking part in the challenge!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, in my mind I am one-upping her by calling her "arriviste" out loud.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all your variations on the theme.
These are wonderful! My favorite is the first one.
