hoist purple white headlights park gloves
canvas running fist open suburbs walking

clearly not from the suburbs
canvas under her arm
a fistful of purple and white brunfelsia
snapped off a bush from a walk in the park
used as a corsage to match her elbow length gloves
she sees headlights in the distance
hoists up her skirt
starts running towards it
car stops - she opens the back door
- gets in
imperiously giving directions
as if it were a cab
the driver taken aback
decides then and there
he is going to marry this girl
no matter what
A woman who knows her mind is a fine person..and I can see why he would want to marry her - thank you again for the new word - brunfelsia - and another poem that leaves me wondering just what happens next!
ReplyDeleteThat woman! Irresistible! No wonder the guy wants to marry her. The question, of course, is: Will she have him? (Maybe you'll have the opportunity to continue this tale with a new set of words!)

The outcome depends on next weeks words....!
