Ethel and Ernest

ethel and ernest
did not have much

a card and flowers
on her birthday were enough
to make her little heart flutter
it was all he could afford

come to think of it
they had everything
more than most

  2. If you have food, shelter, love and relative peace, I would say that was a bountiful life. There are pitfalls in too much! Terse, tight, and telling poem!
