Celebration of Spring

celebration
finally winter has gone
early plum blossoms

Chevrefeuille

the darkness makes its way
back to the northern hemisphere

persephone prances
frolics in the meadows
buttercups and daffodils

hades waits gloomily
counting down the days

the spring lambs are born
fluffy cygnets follow the swans
children throw bread

the days are getting longer
the nights are warmer now

the furs are packed away
the lace curtains are washed
in fresh rosemary

bunches of white daisies
propped on the window sill

Bonus Wordle - MLMM

corset flutter reflection favissa crimson imp pyre
subterfuge cacophony clandestine  delve  arkwright

crimson with excitement
his heart all o'flutter
like an arkwright delving
into the ruins finding a favissa
the prince congratulated himself
on arranging this clandestine meeting
particularly as subterfuge was not one of his strengths

he was expecting her to greet him with open arms
but there she was asleep - a sleep that reflected death
on a funeral pyre
a corset strapped fear took hold of him
a cacophony of feeling whirling around in his brain
he remembered what he had to do to right this
he had read the book
but she had left a written message
little imp !

Sunday Whirligig 131

This weeks words come from ' Drum Dream Girl '  by Margarita Engle

drum pound sticks secret gardens allowed
imaginary parrot comforting carnivals rattling silver

no one
not even
chef the carnival clown
or
jack the sunshine boy
were allowed into the secret garden

a guy called linus lestrange  lived there
with his imaginary parrot
rattling amongst the silver
in his expensive pile
comforting himself by
pounding  the drums with sticks
singing
'they're coming to take me away ha ha'
over and over again

Troiku

on the credenza
my gran's blue jars and roses
look like a french painting

the images of ancestors
beam comfort and consolation
even the stern ones

lighted by a candle
the still life scene is from
another century

on the credenza
the images of ancestors
lighted by a candle
