a little weary
from standing at the bar in high heels
she blows the candle wick out on the counter
her eyes fixed on the entry
a small price to pay hoping he shows up
they both know the lyrics of
teach your children well
which means they  are not young
both like walking their dogs
along the sea shore
together they make an unlikely couple
