Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation

the thunder storm
the evening sun shines on a tree
where a cicada is chirping

solitary little creature
perfectly contented

simply trust:
do not also the petals flutter down,
just like that ?

some are crushed underfoot
others adorn a passing hat



in nooks and corners
cold remains:
flowers of the plum'

frozen solid until spring
when ice thaws and blossoms burst 
 '

 ancient warriors ghosts
mists over the foreign highlands
waiting for the full moon

battle cries echo in the
howls of the lone wolf

the autumn wind:
thickets and fields also,

tangled up in his robes
   
a dandelion
now and then interrupting
the butterfly's dream

specks of pollen smearing
delicate fragile wings
