Child Bride

marriage innocence find full  confining edge
huffing picture pursuing traces capable maze

to find herself in a confining marriage
pushed her over the edge
not a picture perfect situation

all traces of her innocence lost
navigating a nightmare maze and not capable of
keeping her huffing pursuing husband at bay
she became full of despair

all she wanted was her mother
she was only 12

  7. That last line is heart-rending. Abuse of children is an abomination.

  8. Oh wow, I was resonating with those lines, then the last line really hit me. Imagine all that at twelve. Very powerful and, sadly, still happening, in this strange world.
