choking move gates rot eroding stumps
burying the weapons of resentment
leaving them in the past
starting afresh with sparkles
like a dazzling birthday
paring down and moving
leaving the garden choked with weeds
the eroded foundations
gate stumps full of wood rot
time to move on
If only we all could find the strength to move on. Really like this.
ReplyDeleteIt takes wisdom to know when to move on. Meanwhile, rot and erosion eat away at our foundations...

Love that last stanza.....the imagery of turning away from a garden like that and just leaving it there, full of weeds and wood rot because it is just simply time to move on. Powerful.
ReplyDeleteMoving on...you described it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteOoh sparkles and dazzles we clap our hands in glee - sometimes moving on either literally or metaphorically is the only way to get back some shiny
ReplyDeleteBe careful though lest little pieces of resentment still stick fast despite the distance you try to put between it and you. It really is up to us to make it work not the scenery.
