Sunday Whirligig
dust floating pulsing timeless powerless moonless
rolling furrow moves name stars dust
furrowed forehead
pulsing veins
i am moved
watching this unfold
in disbelief
on the late night news
feeling powerless
a continent away
on a moonless spring night
rolling floating bodies
no names just shooting stars
flying out of windows
a timeless image
dust to dust
Yes - still a tragedy that deserves such dignified remembrance
ReplyDeleteA timely reminder.

How fitting it is for you to write of this event it is important it is not to forget and to be ever vigilant to preserve the freedoms we have won.
ReplyDeleteThis is poignant. I find that time does not dull the emotion, the utter disbelief and horror of that day.
