my androgynous neighbour
i don't really know
none of us look at each other
we are brittle cool and self obsessed
we need to be like this if we are
to survive our close proximity
in our vibrant jungle metropolis
if we want to dabble in spirituality
we can always do therapy
have self affirmation platitudes
tattooed to the back of our necks
have our buttocks massaged with agave oil
by masseur de rigueur
(to improve our self esteem)
OR
we can experience cyber romance
without touch or voice
BUT
if we want the ultimate climax
we get a platinum credit card
strange new world
