GOODBYE TO AUTUMN - Carpe Diem # 1556

wrapped in autumn leaves
he presents us with fine gifts
treasures of russet and gold
a delicious poetic feast

 TROIKU

walking on the heath
in the light of the full moon
the scent of autumn

walking on the heath
feeling one with a Shepherd
in contact with God

in the light of the full moon
laying down in the meadow
the River of heaven

the scent of autumn
feelings of departure and loneliness
tears in the puddle

TANKA

autumn departs
in deep silence willow leaves fall
tears on this grave
as the willow is green again
another year has gone

Chevrefeuille

the stream hides itself
in the grasses
of departing autumn

Shirao

fallen leaves
come flying from elsewhere
autumn is ending

Shiki

the pampas grass
waves goodbye,goodbye,
to departing autumn

Carpe Diem # 1554 Modern Kigo

vacant stares
from the vacant house
no one looks

Jane Reichhold

broken windows
smashed glass and grafitti
desperate souls have flown

deserted house
wild roses still have a view
of the remote coast

haven for sea birds
the shutters bang in the breeze
empty eerie silence

Girl Things

the journey up the stairs
takes far longer than it used to
i remember my grandmother
shuffling about saying
never have a house with stairs when you get old
at the time it seemed unimaginable that i could ever be
as old as my grandmother

they tell a story
a woman's bibs and bobs
pink glow in the rain
