Carpe Diem Haiku Kai - Deep Silence

wet ferns dripping
after a monsoon downpour
steamy silence

Day 2

late night silence
the purring of the cat
sounds like an aircraft

Day 3

the snake slithered by
the birds chirped in a frenzy
sounding the alarm

Sundays Whirligig

road waving cut saber mud lined
sell clothes hair one-eyed retreating birch

the one eyed gypsy
selling clothes from her van
cut your hair

waving goodbye
i watched you retreat
along the muddy road
lined with birch

your last words had cut me
to the corps
a small sabre had lodged
in my heart

time to move on

Ralph VAUGHAN WILLIAMS: Oboe Concerto in A minor

When I was a child I remember my father saying that you hated your new hearing aid because when you broke wind it sounded like thunder. At seven I thought it was the funniest thing I had ever heard. Leon and you were often mentioned in our house. It was not until years later I realised how talented  and famous you all were.

black adam is alone
elephant trunks intertwined
a luck omen perhaps

was it worth a rib
you would probably say yes
no fun with just elephants in the room
