OctPoWriMo Day 31

october
a lovely spring/autumn global combo
the most beautiful month of all
now gone in a flash

poets unlocked their hearts
spilling secrets
spreading delight beauty and sadness
for a whole month

octpowrimo
something i looked forward to
at the end of each day
a bit sad now that it's over
will miss it
see you all again next year

Namaste
God bless

OctPoWriMo Day 30

penultimate day
hip hip hooray
sweet smell of success
just over the crest
one day to go
let the words flow
kind thanks for your thoughts
let's sip some fine port
Cheers!

OctPoWriMo Day 29

all good things come to an end
followed by feelings of loss
negative thoughts
convinced nothing good will ever happen again

then after a bleak patch ultimately
the emotional weather changes
( and i can't help but think
it is divine intervention)

the sun comes out
the cycle starts again
with  renewed hope
and another lovely beginning

surely goodness will follow me always
till the end of my days
so far so good
my shepherd is the lord
nothing indeed shall i want

OctPoWriMo Day 28

" I have accepted the challenge of life , to be all I can possibly be."
Lailah Gifta Akita

i could have been
more than i am
but then i did not have
a large inheritance
a maid
a business manager
a live in house keeper
a rich compliant husband
a driver
a cook
a gardener
a house boy
a pool maintenance person
OR
perfect self motivated
self managing children
who could all play
the bach partitas
and speak 4 languages
before they were 6

SO
even though i am more
than i started out with
i am less than i could be
STILL
i have managed
to hang on
to my sanity ( by threads:)
my wicked sense of humour
ma joie de vivre
which
considering all
is nothing short of a
MIRACLE

OctPoWriMo Day 27

swamped by a sea of sad blue
not even orange hot pokers
in the sunshine at the cove
could make her smile today
maybe tomorrow

OctPoWriMo Day 26

oliver talks of writing
poets can relate to it
to those moments that turn unknowingly into hours
to those relished heavenly moments forever fresh
when freed
from the grind and distraction of diurnal life

on hearing this polished cut glass  tone
i am immediately reminded
of his brother's identical voice (sans zozotement)
of the wicked grin and giggles
of this mad but wonderful man
not famous relatively unknown
but always remembered
by anyone who ever met or knew him

sorry
i should have told you
i loved you darling
but i think you probably
knew it anyway

OctPoWriMo Day 25

The Bookworm

there could never be enough
i devoured them

BOOKS

enid blyton my favourite
i owned them all
read them over and over again

the beautiful illustrations
inspired my drawings
the adventures
fired my imagination
i wish i had kept them
