Gabriel Fauré - Sicilienne, for cello & piano, Op. 78

 wistful

 a reverie

a love affair on a page

flies away

in a gust of wind

leaving a trail of sorrow

behind

A Poetry Game for Open Link Weekend # 101 Earthweal

How Many Musical Terms can you find ?

the Busoni boys went to sea
in a beautiful pea green boat
in search of tierce de picardie
an island in the legato sonata sea

inhabited mostly by poets and musicans
it was owned by Major 3rd who won it
in a poker game from his cousin Crescendo
now diminuendo'd from too much
vino and vivace

for a while all went well
until dissonance broke out with too many disputes
beween the neapolitan 2nds and the french 6ths
and prestissimo partying by exuberant poets con brio
the neighbouring islanders complained
allegro is fine
ma non troppo

the Busoni Boys decided to leave
they crammed violin cases with tutti and brass
and made plans to rendez vous with the gorgeous grace note gals
Mogadonna Coloratura, Courtney Act Concerto and Fairy Moans Finale
at Coda island owned by Bessie May Mucho and Barbara Seville

Mr Blue... Michael Franks

We touched like watercolour fawns
In landscapes painted by Cezanne
Like lovers floating painted by Chagall

                                 Chagall

But you and I were you-I then
We thought the rush would never end
We thought the sky, the sky would never fall
We lived we loved we laughed we cried
We'll never die, and now I think of you
And I change right into Mr Blue
You say your lover buys you lace
I say he's fine, I like his face
I guess you still think love will conquer all
I know, but it's not what you think
I only hope it stays in sync
I only want, I want to wish you well

Shadorma

dont feel blue
dont feel too too sad
it's hard times
it's tough times
for all of us at this moment
keep well keep loving

Whirligig # 351

the hush of late night

plaintive sound

of a dove lost

morning

we wake to

a cacophany of bird calls

tips of new leaves

appear in the pot plant

in the hallway

how is this possible

no one waters it

maybe a good sign

 the invisible monster

makes note of today's numbers

entering the valley of death

let's hope God hears our prayers

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "For the New Year" by W.S. Merwin: valley, dove, appear, leaves, hush, sound, hears, hopes, invisible, possible, tips, calls
