Ghazal

you swim with me in the azure sea
locked into my mind with salt and spume

your voice on the wind whistles soft
as the waves lap on to the shore

you walk with me as i meander
by a cinema of foreign films

i click open the front door - see you
stretched out on the indian cushions

7 red roses in a crystal vase
with a note saying you don't love me

Persian Dancers

I heard how, to  the beat of some quick tune
There rose and danced a Damsel like the moon
Saaid 1213 - 1291

her  kohl shadow'd  eyes
her swan neck'd fingers spelling desire
in the clove scented air

Spiritual Way

 Tanka

he helped her to her feet
an old stooped woman frail and bent
and at once i knew
this boy was somehow special
his kindness not of this world

Sundays Whirligig

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "Making Peace" by Denise Levertov: forming, feeling, making, balance, ahead, crystal, profit, power, poem, grammar, metaphors, syntax

forming ideas
feeling too much
making a fool of myself
born under the balance sign
typical
looking ahead into the crystal ball
no signs of power or profit
only poems
crammed thick with rich metaphors
grammar and syntax
the poor relations

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai

you erring in the desert
what air of love is this?... Rumi

the scent of roses
permeates the light warm breeze
what air of love is this?
