Wachet Auf, Ruft Uns Die Stimme, Cantata 140 - Bach
in a world gone mad
sometimes a bach cantata
is the only thing
that will sustain you
sleepers awake

Sunday Whirligig 68
whirring softening hover garden peony patterns
weeds burdock dwindle stem loss hummingbird
Gregg Caudell
he loved weeding his garden
with its peonies burdock
and long stem roses
the patterns formed by shadows
in the dwindling afternoon light
it offered him an inner peace
like a small whirring humming bird
alighting on his heart
softening the jagged edge of his loss
he knew she wouldn't be back
weeds burdock dwindle stem loss hummingbird

Sundays Whirligig 68

buttocks lonely flick cook turn plum
parrakeet sits nags shelf thumb game
her sister nagged her
to enter the competition
flick the switch
have some fun
your shelf expiry date
will come soon enough
she won the game
hands down
thumbs up to
a beach holiday
from lonely planet
sun baking on the sand
her buttocks turned
the colour of cooked plums
bright as a parrakeet 's feathers
she will be standing
rather than sitting
for quite some time
