How Lovely are Thy Dwellings - Westminster Abbey Choir

feeling faint from hunger
thirsty for counsel
wandering through the wilderness
darkness enveloping the soul
the enemy closing ranks
in the northern city
when everything appears
to be without hope
fear not
thy shepherd is the Lord
do good works
give thanks
praise be to God
Deo Gratias

Sunday's Whirligig
thanks wilderness hungry thirst works darkness
counsel praise enemy north city fainted

Sundays Whirligig

the stones
bathed in sunshine
baking in the fiery sun
trouble bare feet

ask for a hose
to spray the morning glory
and geraniums reeling from the heat

give the nasturtium seeds
peeping out of the crevices
a squirt as well

Stanley

 Stanley Spencer Artist
1891 - 1959

wandering up and down
the lanes with his pram
nowhere to go
poor stanley

leaves his wife and children

to marry a bloomsbury dyke
an unconsummated union
silly stanley

she keeps the girlfriend
the title
steals his house
tosses him out
poor stanley

paints jesus as a
clothed suomo wrestler
on all fours sniffing the flars

not the full catastrophe
strange stanley

trudging from pillar to post
bedsits and couches
homeless stanley

so they make him a knight
of the realm
sir stanley

when he leaves
to join the dementia unit
in the sky
cheery bye stanley

self appointed giant intellects
declare him a genius
clever stanley

sell his works for millions
you have to be rich
to buy a poor stanley
