mysterious landscapes
rise and unfold before my eyes
worlds of clouds
Chevrefeuille

mysterious landscapes
the stuff of dreams and nightmares
broken restless sleep
rise and unfold before my eyes
the resurrection story
on easter sunday
worlds of clouds
swirling in my coffee
another day at the office
=========================================
mysterious landscapes
high snow capped mountain peaks
not a palm tree in sight
the stuff of dreams and nightmares
forgetting my lines on stage
an actor's ultimate dread
broken restless sleep
early morning garbage trucks
life in the big city
=================================================
rise and unfold before my eyes
puff pastry stuffed with apple and walnuts
through an oven glass darkly
the resurrection story
a contentious leap of faith
a mystery of religion
on easter sunday
church bells ring out loudly
===================================
worlds of clouds
from an aeroplane window
a distant memory
swirling in my coffee
streaks of whipped cream and sugar
decadent breakfast
another day at the office
counting down the hours
thank god it's friday

Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteI love the allusion to Shakespeare in the opening haiku, which later leads to ‘forgetting my lines on stage’, and ‘worlds of clouds / swirling in my coffee’. You made my mouth water with the ‘puff pastry stuffed with apple and walnuts’. I enjoyed this troika ride.
ReplyDeleteI love these. Between you and Kim, now I want to go and play on Chevrefeuille's site again myself; it's been a while.
ReplyDeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteI mentioned on Kim's site that I could never do this kind of work, and now your effort confirms what it takes that I will never have.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff
Each of these is perfection .... I enjoy reading and writing haiku, thank you for sharing yours. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI really love the first haiku of your first troiku. It's a perfectly capture moment, and I can see it and feel it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what Rosemary said!
Yessss! What Ron said!
ReplyDeleteNothing can ruin your sleep like the banging and clanging, and roaring and snoring of a garbage truck.
ReplyDeleteI must confess I admire the way others write their poetry and this is piece is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteThis is a quite interesting form Never seen it before I love how the clouds swirl in the coffee
ReplyDeleteOoh, I really like this! Each time you reuse a line, you paint a new image with your words. Maybe my favorite part is:
ReplyDelete"rise and unfold before my eyes
puff pastry stuffed with apple and walnuts
through an oven glass darkly"
That was definitely surprising and clever. Made me smile.
